The conference focused on diffuse water pollution and eutrophication.

Kuno Kasak presented solutions on how in-stream treatment wetlands can help reduce agricultural diffuse pollution.

Jürgen Sarjas discussed in his presentation how the reconstruction of drainage systems affects water quality and introduced effective ways to reduce diffuse pollution.

Before the conference, our wetland researchers had the chance to visit one of the driest places on Earth – the Atacama Desert. Some areas go years without a single drop of rain, high-altitude wetlands with flamingos, grazing herds of vicuñas in high-altitude grassy plain.hugo server
